July 2020 – Become an Umpire – Windmill Park – Week 1
Netball is on the horizon and here’s your chance to be apart of it!
Umpiring is an awesome way to improve your game by getting a better understanding of Netball rules or be able to train up to umpire and earn a bit of pocket money on game nights.
Come along these school holidays for a fun and dynamic umpiring course split in two sessions, theory and practical, over the course of one day. A great introduction to umpiring in a non-threatening environment with your peers!
For Years 7-13.
Cost: $50 (for both theory and practical sessions) including personal whistle.
Held at Windmill Park, Mt Eden on Wednesday 8th July – 10am-2pm.
The Theory Session
The theory session will be an interactive workshop held at Windmill Park, Mt Eden in the morning with one of our experienced Umpire Coaches. You will also have the chance to sit the Netball New Zealand Centre Theory Umpire test to gain this qualification (a electronic device – laptop/ipad etc will be required).
The Practical Session
The practical session will take place at Windmill Park, Mt Eden in the afternoon. This is a chance to put into practice the skills learnt earlier in the day under the coaching and guidance of our Auckland Netball Umpire Coaches.
We will be doing everything we can to minimize any potential risk of COVID-19 including limiting numbers in sessions, cleaning equipment for each session, gaps in-between sessions to limit crossover, and hand sanitizer will be provided for use before and after sessions.
