Umpires contribute greatly towards the successful competitions at Auckland Netball and we are lucky to have a number of long standing and experienced umpires as part of our wider team. We have two different squads running here at Auckland Netball.

Our Barfoot & Thompson Junior Umpire Squad runs to support and develop young umpires, giving a great platform for young umpires to progress and extend themselves to higher levels.

The squad is for umpires ages 11 – 15 years of age, who have their Centre Theory award and want to improve and progress their umpiring. It runs during the winter netball season on junior netball competition evenings: Tuesdays Year 7&8 grades at St Johns, Wednesdays Year 5-8 grades at Windmill Park, and Tuesdays Year 5&6 grades at St Johns.

What is involved: A squad coach to support squad umpires, coaching on identified games and a group debrief and reflection at the end of each competition night, a fabulous peer network, plus a squad t-shirt and social evening.

Cost: $80
