ST JOHNS JUNIOR NETBALL YEAR 1-6 
Junior Netball held at Auckland Netball, 7 Allison Ferguson Drive, St Johns is divided into four key stages of development, from the youngest children in Year 1 right through to Intermediate age children in Year 8. The modified game transforms and becomes more challenging as the players get older and continue to develop their Netball skills.

JUNIOR NETBALL YEAR 1 - 6

Game day Thursdays

• 20 minute skill session followed by a game
• 4v4
• No set positions​​​​​​​
• Maximum of 8 per team
• Rolling subs
• ​​​​​​​2x 8min halves
• Equal game time
• Played across 1/3 of a netball court
• 20cm textured playground ball
• Hula hoop or Goal post 2.10m high
• Coach or parent helper each week
• ​​​​​​​No whistle, support play
• ​​​​​​​No scores recorded
• Excellent for first time coaches to learn in a supportive environment

• Played across 2/3 of a netball court
• Size 4 netball
• Goal post 2.6m high
• Coach or parent helper each week

BOYS IN NETBALL

Netball New Zealand Junior Policy 2017

• All boys may play netball alongside girls up to the age of 12 (Year 8) without restriction.
• Boys on court at any one time should not be more than half the team.
• Note: Year 7&8 boys, a maximum of 3 boys are allowed on the court at any time, with only one in each area of play i.e.
  GS or GA | WA, C, or WD | GD or GK
